I am a born and raised Burqueña from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I was looking for a rigorous residency program that values political advocacy and anti-racism work and that would prepare me to confidently practice full-spectrum family medicine in resource-limited communities.

I was born and raised in Long Beach, California to immigrant parents- my mom is from Mexico and my dad is from El Salvador. I went to UC Berkeley for college which is where I first fell in love with the Bay Area. I am excited to come back to the Bay Area to train at CCRMC, a truly full-spectrum family medicine program whose mission to serve vulnerable populations align with my personal values.

I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and studied international relations thinking that I wanted to pursue a career in international politics but was inspired to enter medicine during my time working with FQHC's throughout Northern California. At UC Davis, I cultivated my passion for serving rural communities through participation in the Rural PRIME program, and I am thrilled to be joining an institution dedicated to training excellent full-spectrum family medicine providers such as CCRMC with a strong dedication to health equity.

I grew up within view of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains and prior to medical school worked in the NGO world in Latin America, feeding a passion for global health and women's health. I was drawn to Contra Costa's mission and knew the program's rigorous training would prepare me for a career as a capable, compassionate physician. My perfect weekend morning involves a long bike ride and a latte, and I look forward to exploring nature out West alongside my husband and CCRMC family!

I grew up in the east bay but have spent much of my adult life in San Diego where I completed medical school at UCSD. I am looking forward to coming back to the beautiful bay area and being a part of a highly motivated and dedicated group at CCRMC. I chose CCRMC for its dynamic, full-spectrum training in a community-oriented environment.

I grew up in a small town on the coast of Maine, and several places overseas. When not in the mountains, I am exploring country roads on my bike. My passion for broad spectrum family medicine is tied to my desire to care for rural, under-resourced communities. I was drawn to Contra Costa because of the people, the robust obstetrical and clinical training, and the emphasis on the role of physicians in addressing systemic inequities in healthcare and society.

I grew up on the west side of Buffalo, NY where I was immersed in a diverse community of people that inspired me to pursue family medicine and focus on partnering with my patients in every phase of life. I wanted a program that would provide quality full spectrum medical training and would be intentional about addressing health inequity at every level of our system. CCRMC had all of this and more, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be here.

Originally from Utah, I'm excited to be back in the Bay, where I lived for 10 years during college and working as a stem cell biology researcher and sexual health counselor prior to medical school. Within family medicine, I'm especially interested in health justice, full-spectrum reproductive and gender-affirming care, harm reduction, and palliative care. I'm grateful to train alongside diverse patients and co-workers in a supportive, justice-minded residency program.

I was born and raised on the East Coast, but I consider California my home. I chose Contra Costa because its diverse population, broad spectrum training, and dedicated faculty members will help me to fulfill my goal of working with underserved communities in the U.S. and Abroad. I'm happiest when I'm traveling internationally, participating in outdoor sports, learning and trying new things, playing music, cooking, eating good food, and spending time with family and friends.

I am born and raised in the Bay Area by Chinese immigrant parents. My family's experience with healthcare has led to my passion for preventive medicine and public health. I studied public health at UC Berkeley, worked in public health in Seattle, then attended medical school in Chicago. In medical school, I focused much on community engagement, organized medicine, and multidisciplinary partnerships. I chose CCRMC so I can advocate for my patients both inside and out of my clinic—I was drawn to CCRMC's commitment to health equity and unparalleled full-spectrum training. Outside of medicine, I love traveling, hiking, and salsa dancing!

I grew up in Escondido before moving to Northern California for college and medical school. I became passionate about justice and health equity at a young age, having grown-up low-income, and knew that I wanted to return to serve communities who were also marginalized by institutions and systems. Throughout my medical training, I have focused on queer health, abortion care and DEI curriculum building. I truly love getting to know patients and being a witness to their health journey. When I'm not working, I am adventuring with my wife, cooking, reading or herding goats.

I chose Contra Costa for its unparalleled clinical training, especially in OB, for its centering of care for marginalized communities and because everyone I met made me feel like I had found my home.

As a New Yorker and Oregonian from a big family, I appreciate strong community and cultural diversity. I am passionate about full-spectrum family medicine and am excited to train at CCRMC to become a strong clinician, proceduralist, and advocate for health equity! My medical interests include obstetrics and LGBTQ care; otherwise, I love cooking and sharing food, exploring outside, and doing art.

I grew up in Washington, D.C. but came to think of the East Bay as home when I moved there to take premed classes. I didn't take in college as a geography major. My time in both Oakland and medical school in the Northeast sparked a passion for harm reduction, gender-inclusive perinatal care, and addiction medicine. I chose CCRMC because of its dedication to equipping its residents with the skills to treat everyone who walks through the door with respect and the best care possible.

I am originally from Virginia, but grew up moving around outside of the US, then moved to Tucson, AZ for medical school. I want to practice global and rural full spectrum FM and am passionate about women's health. Contra Costa was a natural fit with the strong inpatient and OB training, as well as commitment to underserved populations and social justice.

I was born and raised in rural Maui, Hawaii where my upbringing taught me to respect native people and environments. I worked as a public high school science teacher prior to pursuing medicine but felt that I would have more resources and skills to assist my community with a medical degree. I chose Contra Costa for the warmth and progressiveness of the community, the faculty and patient diversity, the broad spectrum training including POCUS, procedures, and excellent OBGYN, and the mission to serve and advocate for under-resourced communities.

I was born in Maryland, lived in the Bay, and then moved to Hawaii before coming back to California for college and medical school. I'm from that part of Hawaii where a lot of us spent more time herding cattle than surfing. I chose CCRMC for my Family Medicine training because of its reputation for unparalleled broad spectrum training. I am delighted to return to Contra Costa County and honored for the opportunity to exercise everything I've learned along the way in the service of a community that I hold so dear to my heart.

Great training in broad spectrum family medicine and a focus on population health disparities drew me to Contra Costa. I'm originally from rural Oregon and saw the importance of high-quality primary care from a young age - and my perspective on public health led me to earn an MPH in epidemiology. Outside of work I love to play piano with friends, cook, time outdoors backpacking, camping, biking, and using my hammock.

It's a passion of mine to return back to my hometown, and work as a physician for this diverse community. I chose Contra Costa for it's excellent training in full spectrum family medicine.

I was born in rural upstate New York before my family moved to the mountains of Colorado, so I have always been a small-town woman at heart. Rural health is a passion of mine and during my clinical year of school, I completed an immersive, six-month rural longitudinal program. I was fortunate to experience true full-scope family medicine and the impact a physician can have on a community. I chose Contra Costa for its unparalleled broad scope training, including OB, and its commitment to serving and advocating for underserved communities.

I grew up amongst the wilderness of Tucson, AZ and my family in China. I am the first physician in my family. I am excited to explore obstetrics and global health at CCRMC to become a broad spectrum family doctor.

Growing up on my family's farm in Western New York, I became interested in the connections between community, place, and health. Prior to medical school, I completed my MPH and worked with community health and food justice non-profits in Alaska and Navajo Nation. My interests within family medicine span a broad range – from addiction and street medicine to reproductive and rural health – and I was drawn to CCFMR for its exceptional training in these areas and its commitment to health equity.

I have lived in multiple cities throughout Central and Northern California but consider the Bay Area to be home. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, exploring new cities, and spending time with family and friends. I chose the CCFMRP for its strong obstetrics focus, full-spectrum family medicine training, emphasis on community-based care, diverse patient population, and dedication to health equity.

As a born and raised Wisconsinite (Go Badgers!), I'm excited to trade in snowy winters for California sunshine and the beautiful Bay Area. My medical interests include reproductive health, family planning, LGBTQ care, integrative medicine, health equity & advocacy. I am thrilled to train in full-spectrum family medicine alongside a diverse family of justice-minded providers at CCRMC and hope to use this unparalleled training to care for urban underserved communities.

I am Venezuelan native who enjoys salsa dancing, calls Florida home and moved to Puerto Rico for medical school. I am passionate about helping under-resourced communities locally and globally. I chose CCRMC because its commitment to serving disadvantaged polulations and rigorous full-spectrum training align with my personal and professional goals. Therefore, I feel fortunate to join a program filled with warmhearted people that will equip me with a broad set of skills needed in communities or geographical areas where certain specialists and subspecialists may not be available.

I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, where I have spent most of my life. I have always been drawn to medicine to reduce health disparities and serve underserved communities, and Contra Costa drew me to the East Bay for that, and for its full-spectrum family medicine training. One day, I would love to be a one-stop shop for my patients, and I am excited to get that training at CCRMC while getting to explore beautiful California!

I grew up in a diverse community in Chicago, IL to Nigerian immigrant parents. I am passionate about decreasing the scope of human suffering, and I am thrilled to be joining the Contra Costa community because the training available here very much aligns with my values and goals as a full spectrum family physician.

I have lived most of my years in Virginia, a beautiful and challenging place that I am grateful to call home. I fell in love with the East Bay while completing an interdisciplinary MPH program with a focus on the in/compatibility of abolitionist politics and public health practice. I'm looking forward to co-creating anti-oppressive care practices with my peers during the next three years of rigorous, broad-scope family medicine training at CCRMC.

I was born and raised in Huchinun (unceded Lisjan Ohlone Nation territory) by a family of immigrants and refugees. I went to Berkeley public schools through high school before receiving a BA in Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies at Pomona College and a MD/PhD in Communications and Media at University of Illinois. I returned home to the East Bay for full-spectrum family medicine training at CCRMC with commitments to healing injustice, prevention, addressing social/structural determinants of health, reproductive and sexual health, obstetrics, abortion, queer and trans medicine, chemical dependence, disability in medicine, chronic illness management, and behavioral and integrative health.

I am an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Laguna and grew up in Albuquerque, NM. I am excited to be doing full spectrum family medicine at CCRMC. I aim to practice medicine from a holistic, anti-racist, harm reduction approach with the goal of supporting patients wherever they are in their healing journey.

My name is Rima (she/her). I grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin but was originally from Russia. Residency training was a perfect opportunity to venture into new California lands with my husband and cat. I chose Contra costa due to its true broad-spectrum training that will allow me to develop skills to tackle any challenge thrown my way. I am looking forward to living in the Bay Area, making new friends, and experiencing the diverse and exciting region.

While teaching in New Orleans, I saw the impact an awesome family doc could have on her patients in helping them reach their potential. I went to med school to become a family doc and I chose Contra Costa to be an awesome one! CCRMC felt special to me in that the hospital is run by family docs. I felt like I would walk out of 3 years of training here the best doctor I could be, and given my goal of working with underserved communities, that felt like a matter of health equity.

I grew up in Seattle, WA, and Cranston, RI, the daughter of an artist and a musician. Prior to medical school, I worked in medical administration, where I fell in love with the human body and eventually decided to go back to school to pursue my dream of providing equitable, justice-minded, compassionate care to under-resourced communities. My clinical interests include addiction medicine and harm reduction, gender affirming care, and rural medicine. I chose Contra Costa for its unparalleled full spectrum training, diverse patient population, and warm, welcoming people.

I immigrated to California from Australia and (giving up any hopes of a tan) studied medicine in the Northeast. There I used my passion for health policy and advocacy to found a free clinic for unhoused patients, improve medical education on trans healthcare, and successfully advocate for compassionate release of incarcerated people during the COVID-19 pandemic. I chose Contra Costa for its rigorous full spectrum family medicine training, strong culture of community engagement, and the opportunity to return to the Bay Area.

I was born and brought up in Tibetan settlement in rural Southern India. I attended my medical school in India and had valuable experience of working with underserved population in Tibetan refugee settlement. I moved to Richmond, CA two years ago. I choose Contra Costa for its rigorous full spectrum family medicine training and resident autonomy with a diverse patient population. My passion to provide compassionate and comprehensive care especially for underserved communities aligns with the Contra Costa mission. I am interested in Adult & Pediatric medicine, Reproductive health, POCUS and have the goal of providing complete and comprehensive care to my patients.

Though born in California, I grew up in Petén, a rural area of Guatemala, at a community center and teaching clinic run by my parents and their colleagues. I am passionate about healthcare access, public health, integrative medicine, and reproductive justice. I love salsa and bachata dancing,and getting family and friends together for food and laughter. I chose this residency for the strong, broad-spectrum training, and the commitment to diversity and the needs of the community. I feel honored to join the beautiful and dedicated group of people at Contra Costa.

I grew up in the California Bay Area and I am thrilled to be returning close to home to join the CCRMC family! A California girl through and through I pursued my undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley, then went to LA for medical school where I further developed my passion for serving underserved communities and unhoused populations. I am so excited to join a program that provides excellent full spectrum care for a diverse population and emphasizes whole person care and advocacy for a healthy community.

Although born in New York, I spent most my life in diverse Sacramento, California. I am incredibly grateful to train at CCRMC because of its wonderful teaching culture, full-spectrum training, POCUS curriculum, proximity to home, and service to underserved communities. When not in the hospital, I enjoy hiking, spending time with family and friends, binge-watching shows, and creating art.

I was born and raised in Camarillo, CA. I chose Contra Costa because I want robust training and support that will prepare me to work with underserved rural communities! In addition to rural medicine, I am also passionate about reproductive health education and access, addiction medicine, and lifestyle medicine. I'm thrilled to join such an incredible institution and be surrounded by people who embody the ethos of family medicine.
