Services provided include short-term case management, counseling, linkage to ongoing mental health treatment, support for consumers while in crisis residential housing and homeless shelters, assistance in finding long-term housing, and facilitating the development of independent living skills.

Trainees will learn assessment/diagnostic and crisis intervention skills, as well as short and long-term treatment planning. The trainee will meet with clients for assessment and treatment in various locations within Contra Costa County, including street outreach, shelters, transitional housing and permanent supportive housing. The trainee will be exposed to multiple theoretical approaches and modalities. The trainee may work with doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, licensed clinicians, community support workers, and others in a coordinated and supported manner.
