Viewing Video Content

There are two kinds of video on our site. Streaming video is video content that plays right on your web screen while it is being transmitted to you. Downloadable video is video that you save to your hard drive, and can play only after the whole video is saved.

Download the Video

On Video Options. Right click on Windows Media (WMV) or MP4 format (on Mac: Press and hold the Control (Ctrl) key while you click the mouse button). Then choose "Save As".

You Probably Don't Need to Do Anything

It is likely that you already have a video player on your computer. But, you might not. If you would like to test, try to open one of our shorter videos. If it doesn't load, come back to this page and follow the directions in the next section.

Be Patient

If you are using a dial-up connection (over voice telephone lines), video files will take a long time to load. In fact, some longer videos may take over an hour to load. Probably if you are using a telephone line, you should avoid attempting to view videos which are more than 15 minutes in length.

If It Didn't Work...

...then you either don't have a video player or your video player is out of date. You have two options.

  1. You may download and install Windows Media Player (available for PC and Macintosh). It allows for high quality streaming video.
  2. If you prefer not to download the above product, or are using a computer running on Linux, you may be able to play such files using alternate software.
